This book exists for one reason: too many capable Nigerian graduates spend months, sometimes years, applying for work without a clear system — not because they lack ability, but because nobody ever laid out, step by step, the difference between having a degree and being genuinely job-ready.
You'll notice this book keeps returning to a few ideas: build proof, not just claims. Describe your work as Problem → Action → Result. Learn, then practise, then build, then get feedback, then improve — the Learn–Practise–Build cycle. These aren't separate tricks for separate chapters — they're one method used consistently from your first skills inventory in Chapter Four all the way to your first performance review in Chapter Twenty-Five. Learn the method once, and every chapter after that becomes faster to apply.
You don't need to read this book in one sitting, and you don't need every part of your life to be in order before you start. Start with where you are. Work through the chapters, do the exercises as you go — they only work if you actually do them, not just read them — and build one piece of evidence at a time.
By the end, you should be able to answer, clearly and specifically, the questions that matter most to any employer: What can you do? What problems can you help solve? What evidence do you have? Why should they trust you with an opportunity?
Let's begin.
